Les forêts
This pair of paintings shows the two forests near to my home, where I often walk with my family. The forests in this area were the hunting grounds of the medieval kings of France and deer and wild boar can still be found in them. In these paintings, I try to capture the air of mystery and age still hanging in the forests, connecting the modern visitor with visitors of the past.
Cette paire de peintures représente les deux forêts près de chez moi, où je me promène souvent avec ma famille. Les forêts de cette région étaient les terrains de chasse des rois médiévaux de France et on y trouve encore des cerfs et des sangliers. Dans ces peintures, j'essaie de capturer l'air de mystère et d'ancienneté qui plane encore sur les forêts, reliant le visiteur moderne aux visiteurs du passé.
