Elements: The Vision of Saint Eustace

Egg tempera and gold leaf on oak

35cm x 25cm x 1cm

This painting talks about the relationship of man with nature and the transition from a world where nature was sovereign to one where man masters and often destroys nature. The colours and materials recall Pisanello's famous 1438 rendering of the same subject, in the National Gallery, London.
